i would like to use this time to ,talk about the public restroom ,i am not here to complain about cleanliness or toilet paper or the lack there of in these places !
we have all at some time found ourselves in need of a public restroom ,be it in a store ,restaurant or gas station (yuck ! God forbid )
this past week my oldest daughter and i went to visit my favorite thrift ,and i found the need to visit the ladies room ,as i sat there staring at the walls i noticed something ,the highly educated people who stoop so low as to use this format for their spring board to the world ,have a spelling problem ,they miss spell waz,cuz and buz,dis and dat ,i think they even miss spell their own names,i mean i don't really think any mother actually ,named their child Aprilllea
BUT,there is one word ,and only one that is never miss spelled and i mean never !
you know the one ,yes ,that word,i know it can be spelled by almost any child in grade school but come on now,are these people trying to tell us that they attended school and this is the only thing they learned to spell
is there a class that teaches this ,do children come home and tell their parents that they have learned to spell this word, they must be proud of it they ,spread it all over bathroom stalls
i hear it spoken,on television ,on the street ,in the politest neighborhoods ,and written on walls every where ,is this now our common tongue ,have we become so lax in our morals ,that this is okay ,are their any out there who do not use this word in everyday speech
when i was growing up having a potty mouth was not okay and durn was a bad word,i had an uncle who used s.o.b. and that is what i mean not the words just the letters and my grandmother said he cussed like a sailor
i have always thought this was a word that no one uses, but it seems that i am wrong and it is now accepted in common speech ,
my daughter told me i was a prude,so be it !
now that my rant about the bathroom is over ,i had a very productive day ,today ,with the older children being gone ,i have more time and room ,so i am trying to get back to the way i used to prepare meals and keep house ,
today i made 3 weeks of biscuits, pancakes and waffles ,cooked and froze the sausage for my husbands weekend breakfast scramble ,and the kids sausage gravy ,i also made the buns for tonight's fish sandwiches and a loaf of bread
tomorrow i have big plans to rearrange my bedroom to bring in some furniture from the old house ,this week i crocheted a Rasta hat for my oldest daughter and a ski mask for youngest son ( the wind was trying to bite his skin off)i have promised my oldest daughter ,flip top mittens ,so maybe by Friday ,we don't normally need very much cold weather gear in Alabama but the good Lord has blessed us with bitter cold for the last two weeks ,i awoke this morning to the temp hovering at 15 degrees,i hate cold much less bitter cold ,my poor husband has to be out in it all day ,my 12 year old has to catch a bus at 7 a.m. ,it is just so cold here
one of the reasons i have never left the south is i hate cold weather ,we are having temps that could kill you ,this is not the south i know and love !
i plan to try posting at least once a day ,so i can keep up with the things i make ,what books i read and the meals i prepare
i finally found my camera so i can post pictures of what i make
